Why do people hate overachievers?

People are mean to you because they are jealous of how good your grades are. They may also not like you because they think your are a nerd and "nerds aren't cool". I would suggest you stop being nice to people, not mean but just not so welcoming. I say that because people think that if you're smart then you'll be a push over and a good target to bully.
