Are popsicle sticks and balsa wood safe for rats?

I made a ramp for my rats cage using cloth, 2 balsa wood dowels, and a popsicle stick. The balsa wood bowels hardly stick out of the cloth. It's been in her cage for like a week and she hasn't chewed any of the wood, but if she was to chew the wood, would it hurt her?
